All data files must have personal identifiers removed prior to sending to tech support. Any files that contain personal identifiers will be deleted upon recieving.
- To remove PHI, first rename the raw data filenames (. fsa , esd , rsd , scf ), removing any PHI prior to importing into the software (GeneMarker, GeneMarker HID or ChimerMarker).
Import the data into software (GeneMarker, GeneMarker HID or ChimerMarker).
-Notice that the sample info embedded in the data file may have PHI (for example, patient name or ID number) as shown in the example below:
To remove embedded PHI, Go to Tools -> select Output Trace Data
- In the Output Trace Data window, select SG1 Files option and Raw Data for the Data Type, then click Export.
- Go to Output Folder filepath listed in Output Trace Data window (this filepath can be changed, if preferred) to locate exported SG1 files.
-The exported .sg1 files contain only the electropherogram information and none of the embedded sample information is saved.
-In the example below, the .sg1 file contains only information about the chemistry (kit) used and there is no
sample information (no PHI) embedded in the file.
Please send only files that have no PHI to SoftGenetics for GeneMarker technical support. Any files that contain PHI will be immediately destroyed.
